Development of Natural Tourism Master Plan for Gunung Rinjani National Park
Ecotourism Masterplan for Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve, Aceh
The purpose of the project is to increase tourism development at Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve, which is capable of contributing to the natural conservation and the local economy by developing Ecotourism Masterplan for Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve. The project was funded by USAID-LESTARI and located in Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve in three regencies of Aceh Province, as Aceh Selatan, Singkil and Subussalam. The target of the project was to provide guideline and direction in tourism development for the wildlife reserve management, local and village governments, and private sectors.
Project Component
- Identify of primary data on environment and natural tourism at NP Gunung Rinjani;
- Natural tourism development concept, basic consideration for development, and comprehensive analysis;
- Policies, strategies, and programs for the development of natural tourism at NP Gunung Rinjani, including concerning the problem of visitor management, waste management and natural disaster mitigation.
Location
It was implemented at Gunung Rinjani National Park-Lombok. This park has the most popular trekking mountain for foreign tourists – reach 39.569 trekkers in 2017- and one of most known mountain to climb for Indonesian nature lovers. Besides its popularity for tourism, Mount Rinjani also has important function to provide freshwater supply for the Lombok Island as well as sheltering for Lombok’s Biodiversity.
