Rimbang Baling is the upstream of many Sumatra’s rivers or often called the “Sumatra water tower”. Known as the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve, this lowland area lies at the foot of Bukit Barisan, and at the borders between Riau Province and West Sumatra Province. This book emphasizes the important role of forests in people’s lives, provides an overview of life in Rimbang Baling, and shows how we can live in harmony with nature, utilizing its resources sustainably without destroying them.
