East Java Ecotourism Forum (EJEF) is a non-profit organization that develops and implements the concept of community-based ecotourism. Established in 2010 and declared at the national meeting of the Indonesian Ecotourism Network in Pasuruan, EJEF also provides assistance to communities related to community-based tourism development by prioritizing sustainable tourism principles and encouraging participatory planning. EJEF is also trusted as a resource person in various tourism trainings both in East Java and other regions in Indonesia. Several EJEF personnel were involved in the development of the Indonesian National Competency Standards (SKKNI) in the field of ecotourism guides and tourist village managers facilitated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and together with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Chairperson of EJEF was trusted as a jury for ADWI 2022 & 2023.
