The Berau Regency Government presented a certificate of appreciation to the Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON).

The Berau Regency Government presented a certificate of appreciation to the Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON) as a non-governmental organization (NGO) that has played an active role in supporting tourism development at the “Berau Wonders Awards 2025” event.

The award was given to tourism stakeholders who have consistently worked with the government to develop tourism in Bumi Batiwakkal.

The award was presented by the regent of Berau, represented by the Head of the Culture and Tourism Office of Berau Regency, Ir. H. Ilyas Natsir, MM, to Mrs. Indriani Setiawati as a

Chairwoman of the Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON) at the RPJMD Bapelitbang Berau building on Monday (August 11, 2025).

This appreciation is a form of recognition for INDECON’s tangible contribution in promoting sustainable tourism in Berau Regency. Over the past three years (2020 – 2023), INDECON has also had the opportunity to provide intensive support with the assistance of the Tropical Forest Conservation Act (TFCA). Through various support programs, community training initiatives, and promotions of local tourism destinations, INDECON has been recognized for its positive impact on improving service and enhancing the well-being of the local community.

INDECON has become a strategic partner in community-based tourism development and environtmental conservation. These efforts are in line with the vision and mission of Berau Regency to improve the community’s economy through the development of tourism-based businesses and local wisdom. INDECON expresses its gratitude for the award and appreciation and will continue to be committed to working togethen with the local government and community in developing competitive, environmentally friendly, and sustainable tourism destinations.

This award is hoped to serve as motivation for all stakeholders in the tourism sector-whether from government, private, or community sectors-to continue collaborating to advance Berau Regency’s tourism, which is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage.
